Spin the wheel Random country in Europe
Who uses a wheel of European countries
Geography teachers are the obvious crowd. Spin once and ask the class for the capital, a neighboring country or the flag colors. Small countries like Liechtenstein, San Marino and Moldova come up just as often as France, which is a good way to find out who really knows the map.
It also works outside school. Some people spin for the next cuisine to cook on a Sunday, the next country to read a novel from, or a dream trip to start saving for. Trivia hosts use it to pick the topic of the next round.
The list has 46 entries, including Kosovo, Cyprus and the microstates. Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan straddle the border with Asia and are left off; add any of them in the editor if your class counts them as European.

Playing a geography game with the wheel
- Press Present to put the wheel full screen on the classroom projector.
- Spin, then give the class ten seconds to name the capital or point to the country on a map.
- Use Remove from wheel after each round so the same country doesn't come back until everyone has had a turn.
- Check the Results tab at the end to review every country you covered.

Questions about the Europe wheel
Why is Kosovo on the list but not Turkey?
Kosovo sits fully in the Balkans and is recognized by about half the world's governments, so most European lists include it. Most of Turkey's land is in Asia, so it's usually left out. Edit the list to match your textbook.
Can I spin only for EU countries?
Delete the non-members in Entries, or clear the list and paste the 27 EU members. The wheel saves your version in the browser so you don't have to do it again next lesson.
Is there a version for the whole world?
Not ready-made yet, but the wheel handles long lists. Paste a list of countries from a spreadsheet, one per line, and it will fit them all in.
Does it work when the school Wi-Fi drops?
Once the page has loaded, the wheel keeps spinning offline, so you can keep playing even if the connection goes down halfway through class.
