How to draw names
- Type or paste the names, one per line. A column copied from Excel or Google Sheets works as it is, and a .txt or .csv file can be imported.
- Choose How many names to draw at once, then press Draw or the space bar. The cards spin and stop on the names that were drawn.
- Drawn names move to Already drawn, so the next draw only picks people who have not had a turn. Press Put all back to start a new round, or switch this off in Settings to keep everyone in.
- Press Present to show only the cards on a projector, or Share to send the list as a link. Every draw is kept under Results.

What people draw names for
Calling on students
Draw who answers next or who reads aloud. With no repeats on, every student gets a turn before anyone gets a second one, and an absent student can be put aside without deleting the name.
Giveaways and raffles
Paste everyone who entered and draw three winners in one go: the cards land one after another, so first, second and third prize are clear. Results keeps the time of each draw in case anyone asks.
Meetings and stand-ups
Pick who speaks first, who takes the notes or who reviews the next change. Keep one list per team under My lists and switch between them in Settings.
Games and parties
Draw who starts, who picks the next song or who answers the next question. Present mode puts the names on the TV in letters the whole room can read.

Questions about drawing names
Is the name picker really random?
Yes. The names are drawn the moment you press Draw, by the secure random generator built into your browser, and every name in the draw has exactly the same chance. The spinning cards only show a result that is already decided, and nothing is sent to a server. Drawing several names at once is the same as drawing them one by one without putting anyone back.
How do I draw names without repeats?
Leave Set drawn names aside on in Settings; it is on from the start. Each drawn name moves to Already drawn and cannot come up again until you press Put all back. Switch it off if the same person may win twice.
Can I draw more than one name at a time?
Yes. Set How many to the number you need, up to 100, and one press of Draw picks that many different names. They are revealed one after another, which suits first, second and third place.
Can someone get a better chance?
Only if you decide so: write an asterisk and a number after the name, like Anna *2, and Anna has twice the chance. Without it, everyone is equal. A name written twice also has two chances.
Where is my list saved?
Only in this browser, on this device. There is no account and no server, so we never see the names. Keep several lists under My lists, or press Share to send one as a link: the names travel inside the link, after the # sign, which browsers never send to a server.
Does it work on a projector or an interactive whiteboard?
Press Present and the cards fill the screen in big letters, with no menus or ads around them. The space bar or a presentation clicker draws the next name, and once the page has loaded it keeps working offline.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no limit on draws. A list can hold up to 1000 names. If ads appear on this site, they stay below the tool: never on the cards and never in Present mode.
